Just got home from there after 8 days. Great little park right on the Gulf of Mexico. If you plan on going be aware that they pulled out their internet connection and have gone exclusively with WiFi.

It's a 50 site, (full hook-ups with cable) cg right on US 98 about 3 miles east of Carrabelle. There are several good restaurants in the area, especially if you like oysters. Ho Hum is mostly crushed gravel, shell and dirt with some patches of grass. It's not adults only but doesn't offer much beyond a pier for fishing and great views. We will be going back.

HO Hum has been sold and will be closing soon if not already for more condos. Call before you go.

On the other side of Carrabelle is Carrabelle Palms RV Park. New owner. Price has doubled. But, free Wfi, new pool, newly redone rec. hall and showers/restroom. Lots of palm trees. The Gulf is right accross the road and has a very nice beach.

Ho Hum has a shoreline, no beach. And yes, it was sold.

Why is it that as soon as you find a quiet, off the beaten path spot, they close it. We stayed at Ho Hum this past spring and heard the rummors. Whats nice about this area is its perasonality. We really enjoyed checking things out the including the food. Too bad its closing. We also stayed one night at Carrabelle Palms RV Park. Very nice, but pricy for the area.

SAY IT ISN'T SO!!! Ho Hum was our favorite secret campground. We didn't tell about it because we wanted it to stay as it is, a quiet, peaceful, restful place to sit, fish, and walk the beach. There are already enough condos in the area. I am so bummed out!

I spoke to the owner several months ago when he was looking for a caretaker (workcamper) for the park. I told him I had heard that the park was closing and that this was the last season. He said that only half the park was sold. Draw a line north to south half the width - the east side where the garage was was sold. The pier is gone - no intention to rebuild it and the laundry was removed. He was not sure what lay down the road for the park. The last hurricane did him in.

If anyone goes to Carrabelle be sure to stop at the "Carrabelle Junction" in town. It's a great little coffee shop with the best sandwiches around. Tell the owner, Ron, that I said hi!

The Carrabelle Palms USED to be my favorite place. But the new owner priced us out of it. All the old timers that returned year after year have left because of the price. The owner said if the RV park doesn't show a profit he will bulldoze it and put up condos. What a shame!

We stayed at Ho Hum in Feb 06 and it is still going strong. We stayed about 4 days and had free WiFi and a great water front site. If we are in the area we will be back....

We used to stop at Carrabelle Palms twice a year until spring of 2005 visit blew us away. What a joke it is now!! Cramped parking in the east field with mud holes and tight turns. We will miss Becky & Jimmie but will never bother going back. Too bad greed ruins everything.(Hi Becky) Jim & Sally
