Hood River and Portland?

Hi All,

I'll be heading to Hood River from Walla Walla this weekend. I'm guessing I-84 to Hood and Portland. Any suggestions for good campgrounds to stay at in that area?

There is an RV park on the Washington side of the Hood River/White Salmon toll bridge on HWY 14. There are also several state parks on the Oregon and Washington side. If you have a large class A unit I would not take it on the Hood River bridge! Very narrow and unforgiving. Use The Dalles bridge or Bridge of the Gods to cross the Columbia in the middle gorge area.

Thx for the info. We boondocked at John Day dam (exit 109). Then took a whole day to meander to Portland. We start the Oregon Coast tomorrow (PCH).
