So the good news is I MADE IT! Ended up coming up 355 from 55, toll booths were nice and big and they only charge 2.25, and I went through two of them.

Stayed in Pontiac last night, had the perfect quiet spot at walmart, until an 18 wheeler parked behind me with a refrigerator truck on the back. Every 30 minutes WHHRRRRRRRR - I should have moved, but I was far too lazy. I slept fine besides... the wife on the other hand...

1113 miles from Houston in 4 lazy-esh days.

Well, that is good news. I guess the "chicago-land" area is not so bad after all. Pontiac is a nice "farm town", with a famous pancake restaurant. Now, did you decide on going down the "River road", or taking I 57 to Southern Ill. [foothills of the Ozarks]..??

Wondering, I'm searching for a place to fuel up tonight on my way out of Schaumburg. Also I need to dump and take on fresh water.

I can leave here on 55 or 57, although I would prefer 55, just wondering if anyone knows of a place on the way to do all this?? I can't seem to find anything.

Looks like you decided against the "river road'. OK here's the problem, most Northern Ill camps are still closed because of our terrible winter. It will be hard to find one with the water turned on. You will have to depend on "flying J" or other truck stops that would have a dump station. I think Flying J now charges for the dump. $5 or $10.00 If you can make it to South of Springfield, there is a nice campground just off I 55... Should be open.

There is a camping world not to far from Cabezas where you could dump. If your headed back south to pontiac, you could take 90 west to 39 south. Heads Al the way south and goes right through Pontiac . Did you see Pontiac rv while you where there? There is a petro with rv services in Rochelle on 39. Convenient as there is a Walmart there as well
