Danny and I recently camped at Huntington Island State Park just south of Myrtle Beach, SC. It was a lovely campground. We were there in August and the perimeter campsites were shady and private. The beach was close and beautiful. The bike trails, running all the way from Murrell's Inlet to Pawley's Island, were exceptional. They wound through lovely woodlands - well off the highway.

One of the highlights of camping there was Brookgreen Garden. It is the most exceptional sculpture garden I have ever seen. The tickets are reasonable and will allow entrance for 3 days. It would take 3 days to do justice to such a beautiful garden. Brookgreen Gardens Zoo Myrtle Beach South Carolina Attractions National Historic Landmark

Glad you enjoyed it. It is one of my favorite places along the SC coast. Far enough away from MB yet close enough to great seafood. Just for clarification for others, it is Huntington Beach State Park. Many confuse it with Hunting Island State Park which of course is also a great SC state park.

You are absolutely right about Huntington Beach. We also stayed at Hunting Island near Beaufort. Have you been to the Saturday morning market in Beaufort? Not only do you find wonderful vegetables, but folks cook the very best seafood around. There is one gentleman that fixes crab cakes with she-crab soup as a topping. There are tables for having lunch and groups playing blue grass and folk.

Biking is great at Hunting Island also.
