Idaho for RVers

Johnny Cash once said, "I have been everywhere man". But, most RVers have not ...

So, I was thinking the other day ... Oh no, DW has that look that I know so well every time I get to thinking ... I told her, no really, I was thinking that RVers want to go and see places, but they don't much enjoy burning diesel just to get there ... So, I said to self, "Self, why not ask others at the irv2 forum for feedback before you start them engines ..."

So, what I'm looking to do is get feedback from others that are familiar with specific states to help snowbirds and sunbirds with their travels.

Since Idaho is a favorite place for many RVers ...

What parts of Idaho do you recommend for other RVers? ... What parts would you put in the category of not worth the diesel needed to get there?

I think, in time, we could build a database from threads like this for each state in the US, places in Canada, Alaska, etc.

I'm not going to get in trouble with my Idaho friends by saying there is any part of their state not worth seeing, but I wouldn't want to miss Lewiston, the gateway to Hells Canyon, and to the Panhandle--Bonners Ferry and the Selkirk Loop. There aren't many Bucket List items that beat out a jet boat ride from Clarkston WA/Lewiston ID through Hells Canyon and the Selkirk Loop through ID, MT and southern BC is simply beautiful.

Three Rivers in Lowell, ID. Where the Selway, Clearwater, and Lochsa Rivers converge. It's a throwback in time. Also Red Fish Lake in the Sawtooths, near Stanley, ID.

We stayed in Island Park just west of Yellowstone, beautiful country, lots of beautiful ATV trails. Beautiful country, we will be back!

We stayed in Island Park and from there visited Yellowstone NP, Big Springs & Mesa Falls, & Virginia City,MT. The area is noted for 4-wheeling and fly fishing.
