IHRA and NHRA both start the season this weekend!!!

We can't make Pomona for the NHRA opener, so we'll make the IHRA opener in Tucson, since it's 12 miles down the road. Some of the racers are already pulling in. I've seen quite a few on the IHRA and SWIR Facebook pages.

So, if anybody is there at the track this weekend, stop by and introduce yourselves. I won't have the trailer in my avatar, but we'll have the motorhome with us.

Crank'em up, let's smell some NITRO!!!!

I could hear them running all day in my back yard. The sound is everywhere. Sounds great. I might take a walk down to downtown La Verne and see if I can spot any racers.

I'll be camping at the NHRA event at Atlanta, I'm hoping to hit both Charlotte races and Bristol too but may not be camping, I need to check into the camping scene there.

I'm looking forward to this racing season, I'm going to be wearing the poor camera out.

Just back from the NHRAs in Pomona. I race a top fuel Harley drag bike. Still fixing damage on it from last year, so flew down to crew on one of the other bikes that needed some help. Turnout for the nitro bikes was disappointing because of the IHRA conflict in Tucson, but we should have a full 16 bike field in Veges in April.
Other than rain on Saturday afternoon, it was a great weekend.

I've ridden bikes for years, drag raced them, gone a known 173MPH during a road race track day, gone an I'm not sayin on a lonely stretch of interstate and I'm planning on hitting an ECTA event sometime next year if the funds allow me to do what I want to do.

So let me be the first to say it.

Boy, you ain't right! I mean, seriously!

All kidding aside, Nitro Harleys are amazing to watch especially if you know what's going on in there. I'm impressed!

Bristol is very nice if You can get the trackside sites. They start at about the 1200 foot area, with a unobstructed view. You don't have to go to the stands if You don't want to.The pitside parking does not allow you to see the racetrack at all.You had better reserve soon if You want to get a trackside site. The sound anywhere at this track is something to experience.

they do get your attention!. I came off mine at about 200 mph a few years ago and its sure not something I want to do again.

For the folks talking about bristol, I believe that is one of the events this year where the nitro bikes will be again. Worth seeing if you're into drag races at all. See all the neat places you can take an RV???
