Wow! Trying to get from Mpls. to Atlanta and bypassing Chicago. Maybe 500 miles or so the first day.....Somepace between Bloomington and Danville. Don't see a whole lot to pick from. Any suggestions?

We like Tin Cup in Mahomet, IL which is EZ on/off on I 74 just about half way between Bloomington and Danville. If you call ahead ask for one of the sites between 1 and 10 as they are FHU pull throughs with 50 amp service, good luck and happy travelling, Ken, '04 DSDP...

Having lived in Danville for 29 years I can recommend Kickapoo State Park. Nice park that has had a lot of upgrades done to it. Check out Illinois State Parks on the web.

Depeding on how far from the interstate you want to travel, Moraine View State Park is another top notch park. Lots of shade, clean facilities. It can also be found on the IDNR webpage. Which routes are you traveling to get to alanta? We make the trip north twice a year for wifes family, they live over by St. Cloud(you betcha!). Be careful around Rockford, they are redoing the tolls to make them more open. DO NOT arrive during peak drive times, or you will be waiting 1-hour or better to get through.
