Anyone have any knowledge of the High Country RV Park in Clay Springs, AZ? Is it a nice facility? Thinking of an extended stay in the area, couple of months maybe, and was looking for anything on this park. Thanks!

Warren, We camped a week in December of 2004 at K-Bar RV Resort in Show Low, AZ. We were about 3 or 4 miles from Clay Springs. This is a really nice resort area and just about any RV park you decide to stay will probably be very nice. We had to make reservations about two months in advance - even for December, as most all the parks stay pretty full year around. It was snowing and very cold when we were there, but we had a great time. The mountains are really beautiful and there is just about any kind of entertainment you want, Golf, Casinos, fine dining, fishing lakes, etc. Hope you all have a really great time up there. I would not hesitate to go back and spend a couple of months in the area, as it really is a beautiful and friendly place. Good Luck!

P.S. You missed a great rally in Farminton, there was 479 rigs in attendance!

Glenn

Thanks Glenn! Sounds as though the White Mountains Arizona area is pretty nice.

Although we missed the Farmington Rally, we did enjoy AR and MO ozarks - great weather and some pretty fall colors.

Was that your first FMCA Rally? So what do you think - do you recommend them? I'd sure like to learn more about them.

Thanks again,
Warren

Warren, This was our first FMCA rally, even though we joined in 1999. We had a really good time and I highly recommend you go to one. Since this was our first rally, I am guessing that not all the rallies may be as good as this one, but Eileen and I will certainly go to more of their rallies. The one thing we will do differently the next time is we will probably try to find a nearby camp ground with full hook-ups. We had no sewer hook-ups in Farmington at the fairgrounds. The rally started on a Wednesday, but we arrived on the Sunday before, so we could enjoy the Durango to Silverton train, the Mesa Verde NP, and play bingo in the nearby Colorado Indian casinos, so by the end of the rally our tanks were about to overflow, even with very conservative use of water and showers. There is so much to do and see in that area, we would have stayed another week or two in the area if Eileen did not have to return to work the following Tuesday. I am retired so no problem for me but Eileen has two more years before she retires, so we are limited to about 14 days maximum (including week-ends and drive time) at a time.

Sounds like you all had a good time in the Ozarks. We were at the Branson IRV2 2007 rally and really enjoyed the Ozarks and Branson.

Best to you - Glenn.
