Keith,

Can't comment much about most of your trip but I can offer a couple of suggestions for Marrietta, GA.

Marrietta is not on I-85 but it is easy enough to get to by taking I-85 where it intersects I-285 (the road that encircles Atlanta) and going across the top to I-75 North to Marrietta. Unless you come through during the dead of night, you will have lots of company.

The campgrounds are not Marrietta-proper, but just a little to the North. The first I would suggest is McKinney Campground. A COE facility on Lake Alatoona. You did not say what size your rig is but McKinney can manage some big ones. You can look at a campground map at reserveamerica.com.

The next one is just a little further North. It is a State Park called Red Top Mountain. It is a small "flat" mountain. No problems getting to the campground. Spaces are roomy and set wide apart.

Enjoy your trip.

There is a nice campground near the Lowe's Motor speedway in Concord NC just north of Charlotte. It is not too far off of I-85 on Speedway Blvd. It is the same exit for Concord Mills shopping center. Here is a link to their webpage.

I ditto the Fleetwood Camping Center at the Lowes Motor Speedway. Easy in and out. Good restaurants nearby if you don't want to cook. Large RV Dealership next door. Take Speedway Blvd. follow directions to Speedway. You will see it on your left.

If you are going through Montgomery, Al. You might want to try Capital City RV Park. It is only a couple of miles off the interstate and not too far from the junction of I85 and I65. We have stopped there several times and found it clean, easy in & out, and a nice restaurant next door. It's listed in Woodalls.

Sam, thanks for the feedback on Capital City. This is what I look for - easy in and out overnight and move on. Another friend recommended this park. Looks like I will try this. Thanks. Keith

Fleetwood CG at Lowe's Motor speedway is a good place to stop. We have family in the area and stay at Fleetwood whenever we are in town.

Any suggestions for a quiet, friendly place . Thanks. Keith
