Just wondering if it is possible to find a spot in Havasu on short notice
in January. Thinking of maybe 2 or 3 weeks?
Or, is everything all ties up at that time. We have no experience there.

In January there are lots of options, the Arizona State Parks are a good option, Lake Havasu State Park is right in the center of the area. Also consider areas south of Havasu, such as Parker lots of nice RV parks on the river.
The only service I've seen that honor the national parks passes are multi agency areas run by national forest service. State parks don't usually honor national park cards.
