Islander RV Resort

We're planning on staying at the Islander Rv Resort on the island in lake Havasu City, Arizona for Christmas mainly because my mother has always wanted to go to Lake Havasu and fish on the lake adjacent to where we are staying and within walking distance of the London Bridge. Has anyone stayed there and any info would be helpful? Thank you.

Haven't been there, but like you, it's close enough for a weekend run and I wouldn't mind doing that trip myself. Post an update once you've made the trip.

We stayed there for a month last year...I have mixed emotions about the place.

On one hand, it is a very well run and maintained Park in a beautiful location. Amenities are first rate and the people in the park are great. We had Xmas there and the "social club" held a dynamite turkey dinner/ buffet pot-luck. I joined the adjacent executive golf club for very little money and could golf everyday + walk to the course. We were also there during the balloon festival which was right next door (walking) on the golf course. In addition, you can walk around or bike around the island (6k) right from the Resort. So what's not to like?

On the other hand, this is a giant mobile home/trailer village where everyone is jammed-in like a bunch of sardines. You can literally tie down your awning by attaching it to your neighbors RV....great place of you like sitting on top of your neighbors sewer hose!

The only reason we stayed a month is the 6 premium sites they had right on the lake...our dogs could literally swim from our door step and we could enjoy a beautiful unobstructed mountain/ lake view from our windscreen/lawn chairs! Only catch....these sites go for $95p/ night or $1,200 p/night + power.

Thank so much for the info. We decided to reserve a site for the 3 day Veterans Day weekend before booking for Christmas just in case. We reserved a site on the peninsula that backs up directly to the lake. We're looking forward to looking out the back window at the lake. I'll definitely let you know what we experience.

These are views from site 34 I believe, very wide nice sites, 31,32,33,34 pricey as mentioned. Much of the remainer of the park is just rock and asphalt accomodations for people owning boats.

Very well managed and maintained as said before.

Well, we made our trip to the Islander and for the most part we really enjoyed our time. Our only complaint would be that we didn't feel this resort was really pet friendly. This is by far the largest rv resort we have ever stayed and they only had one very small pet area. We generally take many walks when on trips and this is the one place that we have ever felt like we have been watched and we always pick up after our baby-pet dog.

That said, the location of this resort is amazing and if they were still were allowing new site owners to enter the rental program we most likely would have bought.
