What sort of RV do you have, is it a rental, do you have experience driving it?

Looks good to me if you just have 10 days. If you have longer, I'd stay longer in each location to see more or just relax. But, driving distance is good. Have fun!

I just noticed your first day is 500 miles .... way too many miles, especially if you aren't used to towing a trailer.

And... I'm not positive, but I think Apple Valley Motorcoach is Class A only, need to check that out before you make reservations there.

I agree totally.... Don't ruin the trip by driving that far. I'd keep it no more than 300 per day...ENJOY your trip!!! BE SAFE!!!

While 500 miles is a long drive for a day one I wouldn't say its not doable/advisable. I've done it before when the idea is to get as close to where I want to see things as possible without taking 2 days to get there.
There are just times when there isn't anything you want to see (for me that's from about Colorado Springs to Chicago) so you just suck it up and get as many miles behind you as possible.

That's what I noticed too - Sh*t happens that's a 10 hour plus day - even a veteran would be pushing it,

So might just try to get out the day before, after work, and do a Wal*Mart sleep stop to make it more doable.

Will follow .................

I just checked, and yes, Apple Valley Motor Coach is a Class A resort ONLY ... so if you are renting a trailer, you will not be allowed to camp there. If you are renting a Class A motorhome, then you can. And, in answer to your question about where you would stay longer, all your destinations are ones that I would personally, stay a week or more. But, we are retired, so that is just us. Again, hope you have a wonderful time, but don't make it too stressful for your first outing by going too many miles and trying to see too much. Take it slower and enjoy the trip ... that will make you want to do it again and not throw in the keys! Just my opinion.

I agree with the posts about traveling the first day - you have reckoned 8 hours as travel time for 500 miles - that means you must average 62.5 MPH with no stops and pulling a TT that you don't know.

I'm sure most will agree that is not realistic and you should figure closer to roughly 50 MPH on average which would take into account fuel/bathroom/meal breaks and traffic slowdowns (think construction and accidents). Alternatively you will need at least 10 hours on the road.

Also in your sheet you have a couple of days with a distance of 200 miles and driving time of 2 hours? I don't think people will appreciate you going at 100 MPH!

If you burnout the first day, you won't enjoy the first few days of your trip. Good luck and have fun.

Chris
