It's hard to find a remote get away

99% of the time the wife and I camp in state parks or state forest campgrounds, but this is Memorial Day weekend and things here in Michigan get crowded pretty quick. My daughter and son in law couldn't leave until late Friday night so them getting a spot next to us in a State Park would be nearly impossible. I started reconning for a quiet get away on Wednesday and got lucky. It's now Saturday and we have this very nice small lake all to ourselves. Here is a pic of the unrestored 71 Avion the wife and spend time in.

PS first post, hope it's in the right spot

Perfect spot. Enjoy your weekend. And, as a Michigander, I know what you mean.

Your lucky photobucket stripped the Exif data from the image properties, or that spot would no longer be remote after this post.

Just south of Canada and a bit north of Ohio.

Now that you've given up your coordinates, I should be arriving sometime in the next year or so. Beware that I will be bringing a few friends along.

East Lake Resort – Your Upper Peninsula Experience
This is out of the way. Right down the way from our cabin. East lake is about a mile in diameter. No power boats, Fairly shallow. The campground only has a few sites 120volt hookup only and water. There is no dump site as of yet but they are working on that. It's in the middle of the Hiawatha forest. 11 miles of dirt road from Moran.

The little lake I was camped at was 5 miles down a couple of two track dirt roads. No power, water or dump site. There is a State Forest campground 6 miles away for water. I have a couple Honda 2k's running all the wife's stuff.
