Ives Run | Tioga, PA

Headed to Ives Run this Friday when the kids finish with school. Fall colors should be great.

That's a beautiful SP with wide/level sites. Wish we were headed there this fall, but we'll have to stay in OH this year.

You gonna ride the train?

Hi Lori,

We rode the evening Halloween dinner train last year which we all enjoyed, although not much for sightseeing after dark. Our favorite activity is riding the bike / hike trail in the Grand Canyon (and dining in Wellsboro ) We took the Grandsons on the horse drawn wagon ride in the canyon a couple years ago which is a nice activity for all ages especially this time of year.

I agree, the generous paved sites and roads are a pleasure in this COE Park, and the 50% discount for seniors with a federal pass is a great bargain as well. So many nice things to do and see in this region. FWIW - there's a very nice sister COE campground a short drive to the north - Cowanesque Lake. Both campgrounds have large flood control lakes with excellent fishing and boating opportunities and swimming and picnic facilities, too.

cheers,
Joopy

Oh yes, the trail in the PA Grand Canyon is a great bike ride. I so wanted to do that the last time we were there, but it was raining. Walked it a bit though, with umbrellas.

We also went to the top of that fire tower for a better view of the fall colors. This is one of the pics I took. I hope the colors this year are just as spectacular for those going here.

Great photo, and so many beautiful vistas in the region especially along scenic Route #6. Here's a couple seasonal pics of the campground. You can see some of the lake in the 2nd pic.

We had a great weekend. A little wind and rain Friday evening, but pushed out in time for a sunny & brisk fall weekend.

Got to meet a fellow IRV2 member - Jupiter, who is still there enjoying the area!

Pretty pics, Earl. We'll be headed out this weekend. Can't wait to get the campfire going & sit next to it with a nice, "properly spiked" hot chocolate.

Very nice photos, Earl and it was truly my pleasure meeting with you and the family. Really nice kids! Hope we can cross trails again.

The weather cleared today for a nice bike ride through the Grand Canyon. However, the breeze was still quite stiff. It's began raining since about 7:00pm tonight so we'll have to defer the campfire until tomorrow. Rain or not... it's still a great place to be

Hope you have nice weather for the weekend, Lori. Either way, you can always enjoy the spiked hot chocolate

cheers,
Joopy
