Jackson, MS for Over Night Stop...

Doesn't look like much in Jackson, MS as far as RV parks. Need a over night stop. I see a couple of truck stops and a Wally north of town on I-55. I could drive 40 miles east to Vicksburg and 40 miles back the next morning but life is short... headed to Memphis on I-55. Any ideas out there?

My RV Parks App, shows only 2 parks in Jackson, both are on Old Hwy 49S, North & South of I-20. We stayed at the one on the South, called "Cleveland's Trailer Town". Mostly a trailer park, but they do have some RV sites. Not the greatest place, but was adequate for overnight.

On edit, saw that you were looking for information about Memphis. Well, we stayed at the Memphis River Park, @ 870 Cotton Gin Place, which was real nice.

Post Jackson to Memphis

Have you given or tried recreation.gov ie: corps of engineers campgrounds .
We stayed in Hernando,Ms. C O E C about 20 miles south of Memphis off of
I-55 . This is just one of many areas available .

Hope you find this helpful as there are a number of areas that stretch I-55 .

Good Luck + Safe Travel

Look at Timberlake campground. It is on the Ross Barnet Res. and I think it is owned by the city or the state.

Le Fleurs Bluff State Park, Exit 98B, I-55 in Jackson is a possibility, maybe. Haven't stayed there. Gets OK reviews at
http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/Mississippi/Jackson.html
Note the getting there and heavy rain flood warning on the CG web at:

... reading a rvparkreview they talk about a 90 degree turn at the enterence with medal posts on each side with only 3 or 4 inches to spare if you are 40' or bigger. Too big a risk with my driving skills or lack there of... appreciate the input. Thanks
