Jacksonville, FL RV park

Looking at traveling to Jacksonville, Fl in next month or so to go to Mayo clinic. Looking for decent place to stay at reasonable price & still be able to make a short drive into the clinic for treatment. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately there aren't any really near Mayo itself. That said, the Flamingo Lake RV Park is a really nice site, about 25 minutes from Mayo mostly on the 9-A beltway. It is right off I-295 (3640 Newcomb Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218-1510), 800.782.4323.

Since we live in Orange Park we've never stayed at Flamingo but many friends that have and all have enjoyed it.

Good luck with your treatments. We are both Mayo patients & love their care.

Mark

We live in Jacksonville and Flamingo Lake is a favorite of ours. We often go there just for a quick, relaxing get away. It is clean and well taken care of. They have a card, if you get 10 punches (10 nights) you get one night free. Pecan Park is another campground, but it is not as nice or relaxing as Flamingo. If you ask to stay in the "old" portion of the campground you can get a shaded spot, but they can be a little tight backing into.

After my previous post about Flamingo Lake, I realized that the City of Jacksonville has a real nice campground in Mayport Florida which is actually pretty close to Mayo Clinic. The park is the Katherine Abby Hanna Park. Lots of sites, lots of shade and lots closer to Mayo. It is next to the beach. Good Luck.
