January 2015 trip

We're planning on taking the month of january for a trip from our base in the state of Washington. It will be the first time I've managed to take a full month off from work.

We both love the palm springs area, so we're thinking of maybe 2 weeks there. Thought maybe about trying some place(s) in Az for the other two weeks.

Anyone with suggestions for places in either location? We're not golfers, but pretty much up for anything else.

thanks in advance.

Quartzsite Az for the RV show (last two week of January). Lots of golf in the Parker & Lake Havausu area 90 or so mile North of Quartzsite

Quartzite might be worth seeing. We'll put it on the list.

We start out in Jan. each year from Olympia. Seven Feathers 1st night, Rolling Hills second, Orange Grove 3rd and "Q" the last, but Palm Springs(we like Indio better) would be the same distance. Then to Borrago Springs for a couple days(weather depending). There are several Parks in the area that are do not miss. And then any where there weather is good plus something to explore, Az has so much to see.

I saw the advertisement for that. Holy buckets, unless I'm reading things wrong, that is one pricey place. Looks pretty nice though.

Lot's of places that are fun, but the best is where the temps are 70-80. Lot's of our customers head done to Mexico, some go to baja while most go down the mainland near PV. All depends on how adventuress you are.....

If that is something your interested in stop by our shop (being your in Orting & we're in Sumner) and I'll get you in touch with the right people. Or just stop by and check us out.

Is that your shop down past McLendon's on the opposite side? I'll stop by. Not too interested in heading south of the border, but I have some coach issues I'd like to ask you about. Thanks for the suggestion.

Borrego Springs and Indio

Borrego Springs is the center of the largest state park in California (maybe the whole country). Great hiking, 4 wheeling and a very nice visitors' center. Camping is in improved cg's or boondocking. You could also treat yourselves to resort style camping at The Springs at Borrego which is absolutely first class. They sometimes offer massage, fitness classes and star parties.

We also enjoy Shadow Hills RV Resort in Indio. Just north of I-10 on Jefferson. Very neat with a fine pool and jacuzzi. When you check in ask about Rudy's wash and wax service. He and his crew do a super job at a reasonable rate. He does our coach every time we stay there.

We've stayed at Shadow Hills several times, nice place. Easy access to the freeway and Palm Springs.

You might like Fountain of Youth Hot Springs and RV Resort which located on the north side of the Salton Sea east of Palm Springs .It's pretty popular with snowbirds and they have activities and the natural mineral pools to soak in. Some of our friends spent a month there last January before heading to meet us in Quartzsite. They enjoyed there stay there. Right next door is Glamis North KOA which is a RV resort that's popular with the off road crowd because you can ride from the park out to the wide open desert. They haves rules in the park to control them so it's not like it's a out of control place.

lots of good suggestions. Thanks.
Anyone head as far up/north as Sedona by the last part of january. I'm thinking it will still be cold, but if its not too bad, we really like the area.
