Jeeping,,,,,, East Coast???

We were planning a trip to Moab in September, but don't think we will have enough time to make that long drive back and forth.

Anybody found good locations to go RV'ing and Jeeping here on the East coast? We have a 2015 Wrangler, not looking for really highly difficult stuff, but getting out with the Jeep would be fun.

Lloyd,
Watching Extreme RV on Spike, there are a lot of trails and parks around the Nashville, Tn area, might not be right in Nashville, but within a short distance from there. Try Googling Off Road parks in Tn.

Try googling "Windrock Park" and "Ride Royal Blue". Both are in the Knoxville, TN area and have good trails. Also, check out Black Mtn Off-road Adventure Area in Harlan, KY. It's 1 - 1.5 hrs from Knoxville.

Lookup Lake Jocassee Jumping Off Rock in S.C. When I first got my jeep we went up there and camped on the lake and took the jeep up there, perfect relatively easy trail with great views. Can also take it right down to lakes edge as well and down to a waterfall, lots of trail in there.

Don't give up on MOAB and make that trip some day. We just got back and I was totally amazed at the scenery and canyons and trails. Get some local advice and most you can venture by yourself. PS - hot hot hot in summer. Worth every bead of sweat. jmo mark

We just got back from out west and did jeeping in Santa Fe and Silverton. Much prefer the temperatures up high in the summer than Moab . Went up to Animas Forks and then Cinnamon Pass, snow on the ground in June! Beautiful, nothing like the Alpine loop in a jeep, already want to be back out there compared to FL heat.

True...Silverton is excellent but Moab is also - but not in summer.

You may want to look at Uwharrie National Forest. They have several campgrounds and trails for jeeping and atv's. I'v not been on the trails but my nephew is into that stuff and he goes over there occasionally.
