Last week I had to go to South GA on business so we went onto Jekyll Island, GA for a week of relaxation. I had not been to Jekyll Island, a state park, for many years and was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it is. We stayed at Jekyll Island Campground, which is situated under a canopy of oak and pine trees. It truly is a nice park. For those of you who go south for the winter, Jekyll Island Campground has a winter special - $400/month gets you water, electricity, sewer, and cable. Jekyll Island is near the Florida border east of Brunswick, GA just off I-95 and has golfing, fishing, etc. I plan to go again.

We went there a couple of years ago in June and we had a great time. We also think it is a nice park.

Yes this park is open all year round. If you stop by, say hello to Ronnie Douglas (Park Manager)

We're thinking about stopping at the campground for a couple of days on our way to Tampa this January.

Mike,
I might make a trip here this year. Let me know what sites you prefer for the size and privacy! Might do something different form Myrtle Beach!

I'll let you know the comparison once we get down to Florida in about 10 days or so. I will also be posting from our campsite at Ocean Lakes since every site has a telco connection.
