Jekyll Island / Tybee Ideas
I would like to head over to the Ga coast in a couple of weeks. Driving a 38' MH and our only other transportation is bicycles. My question is which campground is best for my mode transportation once parked? We like the beach and good restaurants. I am looking for the campground that we can see the most using bicycles.

The Jekyll is campground would be good for biking the island from. Don't remember a bunch of restaurants, but the one at the marina used to be good.

Tybee would be easy to get around on bicycle. Lots of beach areas and restaurants within a few blocks on the campground. We was there a few weeks back. Had a nephew living and working there and he got around the island on a skateboard.

Just to warn you, Jekyll fills up with Canadian's coming down this time of year to stay for the winter (Snowbirds, we call them ).

Spent a weekend there for the first time MH and bikes only, had a blast. Can't wait to go back! less crowed than Myrtle Beach and you can drink a beer on the beach with out getting a 1000.00 fine. You can walk to several places to eat or take a bike ride to the other end of the island and visit the heavy commercial area.

We stayed at Tybee this past summer. It was great. You can walk to the beach or bike. If you drive, it will cost you to park. Very nice campground.

Tybee at Rivers End CG
We stayed there last June - very tight and crowded. You have to walk to a beach which is really on a bay. Would not go to Tybee again - beaches are not like Florida.

On Jekyll virtually the entire Island is a short ride on the Bicycles, It would I do not know about the other island, never been there.

Would only do Tybee, by toad. One visit is enough in that tight, crowded, tiny roads, dirt sites, over priced, Rivers End CG.  JMHO Must say Tybee has some good eating joints. Tybee only required one day to see all it had to offer. Not what I would call a beach, just a wide spot of sand on a bay. Fort Pulaski was an interesting visit. Spent next four days commuting to Savannah, having a grand time eating, touring, general sightseeing and learning the long history of the city.
Bicycles would be great at Tybee.
