just returned from a 2 week trip to OBX

We traveled to OBX for the first time and enjoyed every minute of it. Spent 4 days in Emerald Isle then went north and took the 2 1/2 ferry ride to Ocracoke. Then took the 40 min ferry ride to Hatteras. The ferry rides were quite nice and my kids thought it neat to put the MH on the boat. We then stayed in Rodanthe and made that out base point. We stayed at the KOA there. It was our first experience with KOA. The CG is all new due to Irene from last year. Lots of activities for our kids. Overall it was a fantastic trip and would like to go back at some point.

Thanks for the summary.

Although we have RV'd in 48 states, OBX is one area we have missed but it is definitely on our list!

Glad you enjoyed yourselves.
We live about 100 miles from OBX. I have left home in the morning and took the ferry to Ocracoke then the ferry to Hattrass then on up to Nags Head then back home. It makes a nice day trip.

OBX has been my vacation spot of choice for 53 years. I love it there.
