Kenosha Wisconsin Campground

We are looking for a campground that is close to Kenosha. We will be visiting our grandson who is stationed at the Coast Guard in Kenosha. We did find Happy Acres, hoping for someone that could can give us a yea or nay or maybe a different place closer. We are traveling with our MH and towing a car. Would like full hookups 50 amp, but can adjust if need be.

That is about it. I go to Zion and the state beach park, it is a nice place water and electric only . Close to lake but busy on weekends. Zion (Illinois ) - Campground Reviews - RV Park Reviews

We used to live in Kenosha. We moved to Florida in '94. We used to camp at a county park called Cliffside in north Racine just east of Highway 32 near 6 Mile Road. The last time we visited Kenosha, we camped at the Bong Recreation Area which is a Wisconsin State Park just west of Highway 75 in Kenosha County. Both facilities have electric and water but no sewer hookups.

We were back to Kenosha for 50 year class reunion last fall and stayed at Happy Acres. We were very pleased with our choice. It was Fall and off season so things may be different peak season, but we would stay there again.

Check the Richard Bong recreation area. They do have sites big enough for a big rig and it is generally easier to get in than one of the "regular" state parks.
