Kentucky Bourbon Trail

Any suggestions for campgrounds in the area?

Yes! We enjoyed Whispering Hills. Whispering Hills RV Park

It is in Georgetown, in the heart of all there is to do in the area, moments from the Bourbon Trail. Do not miss seeing Old Friends retired racehorse farm. The tour of the Toyota plant is free and fascinating. The entire area is drop-dead-gorgeous!

Hey thanks for this info. Not on the books for this year, but the bourbon tour is on the short list of trips to come.

Keep your words sweet.
You never know when you will have to eat them.

When we did the Bourbon Trail we stayed at Elkhorn Campground in Frankfort. Good location for the trail and nice people.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

We've done the Bourbon Trail several times. First time we stayed at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington and the other was My Old Kentucky Home in Bardstown. I have taken our Bourbon Trail trip and consolidated it into a blog on our trip website BILLY CHRONICLES - TRAVELS WITH DAVE & BETZ | I write to taste life twice … in the moment and in retrospection. (Anais Nin)
All of the distilleries including a small one that is not on the Trail are listed. Have a great time. We loved it!

Don't forget to tour Independent Stave Co to see how the barrels are made. I was amazed at how fast the factory workers can put one together.
