Killing 3 weeks on the east coast

I need to be in Atlanta in mid September, then in North Carolina in Mid October. What should I do between the two? Help me kill 3 weeks.

Thanks,
J

If you haven't already been there, Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA.

Yep! A visit to the Outer Banks is worth while. Be sure to check out the Wright Bros. memorial.

I like the charleston and savannah suggestion. I think we will do the smokies on the way back West in late October.

Hunting Island State Park, James Island County Park in Charleston, Huntington Beach State Park in Pawleys near MB. For a mountain trip try Lake Jocassee State Park, or Camp Fire Lodgings near Asheville.

While you're in that area, ramble on up to Helen, GA for two or three days before going down to Charleston. And yes, they sell beer there.

Charleston is marking the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the War Between the States. Check ahead for reservations and planned events. Try a meal at Jestine's Kitchen. Charleston Pirate Tours offers entertaining tours of the city with a focus on pirates. Visit Savannah's squares. And Tybee Island.

So much history in so little space.

I spent some time last winter in Darien, GA but then that city holds a special attraction for me (Darling Daughter and her Hubby) Cathead Creek Ranch RV park is a fun place to spend a Thursday Night. Nice the rest of the week, no shade though.

Ashvelle, NC was featured on an internet TV show, Turns out it is a very interesting place, I've spent just one night there and with no towed.. Well, I moved on to Darian. Will be going back there.

And of course though at one time if you wised to visit a Casino your choices were kind of limited (Lost Wages, NV) now most every state has several of them. Including the east coast.

Savanah use to celebrate first friday on the water front. Don't know if they still do but I will find out in October when we are there. It was fun.

Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks, take the ferry from Hatteras, Cedar Island or Swan Quarter. Bring mosquito repellant!
