We went a few years ago -KOA seemed to limit how many sites were included in the program - and the campsites were not very good. I doubt I will go back to a KOA because of the "quality" of the sites.

It all depends on the KOA. Premium sites (paved patio, raised patio rings, lamp post..etc) are avaliable for that weekend at the KOA closest to us. Yet, another, less than 50 miles away (also with premium sites), doesn't show availablility. Whether that's due to already being booked or the owners aren't offering those for that weekend, I don't know. I also stayed with our group at a KOA in PA on a BOGO free weekend & those sites were quite nice - fhu, spacious & well shaded.

We bought a KOA Membership in the Fall of 2010 while travelling. We've been on the road all winter in the USA and have never used the KOA Membership. When checking out Campgrounds, RV Parks, KOA are just not reasonably priced anywhere that we travelled. WE were very disappointed with them. Their facilities are way overpriced IMO.

I'll agree w/you there. At least the BOGO weekend makes it a bit more reasonable, although they still get you by charging extra for many of their ammenities.

IMO from the KOA's I have sampled in the last ten years the free deal is still too much to pay.
Harpers ferry and the Pigeon Forge KOA are on my top ten list of worst cg's I have ever been to.

Not to bash KOA's but they are way way overpriced. We stay at them only on a one night basis and when there is no other place to go. As a matter fact I just wrote to them an e mail about the high price we payed during the first week in March while on our way back from Fl. I have never ever been at a KOA that I thought was worth it. I don't mind paying a little more for an overnight stay but I believe you get what you pay for and compared to other places we have been to there is no comparison.

Why is this thread still a "sticky"? The offer is long gone.
