Wink Koa New Orleans

I live in NJ. I am planning to head to New Orleans next year early. Has anyone used the KOA's in that area? I read the reviews but I would appreciate first hand experience. I would like the closest KOA to New Orleans. Any suggestions on a route from the North East and sights to see?

We stayed at the KOA in New Orleans last in 2015 while attending the Jazz Festival. It was acceptable and the location was convenient. I'm not sure what more there is to say.

Check out Pontchartrain Landing. It is a little out but they have shuttle service to downtown. We loved it. Quiet, secure, nice staff
Don't be put off by driving by the "industrial" area others speak of. Its where they build yachts etc.

Last December we stayed two weeks at Bayou Segnette State Park on the West Bank, just a short drive to the downtown and French Quarter. 50 amp service with water, only drawback id no sewer hookups. If you pace yourself, we managed to last a week before needing to empty tanks. Gate is maintained and locked at night, guests are given combination for after hours entry. Not fancy, but great location if you want to hang in the downtown areas and not pay a high price...

We stayed at the French Quarter RV Resort this past Christmas.

It is within walking distance of the French Quarter tourist area and surrounded by a secure fence. Not rustic but very convenient and nice inside the park. It was great not having to drive back from the French Quarter.

X2 on Pontchartrain Landing. That is where we put our motorhome when we are getting ready to head out. We live in New Orleans and our MH won't fit down our street. Pontchartrain Landing is clean, decent area between sites and has a nice resturant on site as well.

Actually live in Shreveport, La. and visit French Quarter RV 3-4 times per year and would highly recommend. Very close to FQ and "safe". Try to get near the check in station to be close to very clean shower-restrooms, gym, and coffee all day.
Never been disappointed, if you need list of my favorite eateries & must sees give me e mail shout
been to NO no less than 100 times in my 60 years and still have to have the "fix" on occasion.
