KOA launches major rebranding initiative > RV Daily Report |

It looks like KOA has been has been listening to the RV community. I guess we will have to wait and see if the reality meets our varied needs.

And, let's hope, they adjust their pricing accordingly. I wouldn't expect to pay the same price at a Journey facility as I would a Resort facility. Time will tell.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

I'll get interested when they add 55+ or no-kids to their menu.

Exactly. As we all know KOAs have long been journey, holiday, or resort facilities depending on the individual property. If this initiative is used to justify higher prices at the higher-grade properties without cutting them at the lower then this will be a big yawn and make KOA an even worse value than they are now. As was said, time will tell.

It willbe interesting to see how KOA decides to price a monthly stay. There have been a few occaisions where a KOA was the most convenient location for me (as a full timer) but thier pricing knocked it out of the park. # of day in the month X daily rate is what I was quoted.

And that was long ago when they were nicer...

"Every KOA campground will be designated over the next two to three years."

It shouldn't take anyone with a brain, to designate them all within a 2 month time period. And all $$ marked in the web site by next spring camping.

This pass summer we traveled from NC to Glasier NP. On the way out we stayed mostly at KOA's. I was confussed by the title or "resort" many of them carried.
Other than Rushmore, I did not see much difference in the CG.
KOA Cody charged "resort" prices but was no different than all the others.
On the return trip we stayed at Good Sam's CG and will continue to do so.

Hmmm. Looks to me like the guys in the Ivory Tower have too much time on their hands.

We have fulltimed for 6 years and have never seen a KOA that was worth the price they charged. We try to avoid them like the plague. In 2011 we had to stay at one in VA, ugh, $52 and what a mess. They wanted to charge me an extra $3 to get the gate code if I wanted to go out after they closed it.

We've full-timed for 16 years and have never stayed in one. There are so many better places with more reasonable prices.
