Evangeline Downs is the track. Racing does not start until April 6th, 2016. There is a casino (video poker only) and a few places to eat.

Check out the Lake Martin Bird Sanctuary. Amazing variety and number of birds and terrific alligator watching! It's very near Beaux Bridge. Don't miss the Blue Dog Café in Lafayette.

If you go to the Cajun Palms Madre Gras weekend watch out for the golf cart parade, they know how to dress them up!

Yeppers ! one of the best things about Cajun Palms is the customized golf carts !
I bet some of them are $30k+ with the wraps and stereos and lifts and tires!

We really liked the 'shared sites',
three sites set up so we three friends parked in a triangle with all awnings to the center !

great fun !

Had lunch today at Coyote Blues - 5741 Johnston St., the Shrimp & Grits were excellent.

Where are the best places to watch a parade for old folks?
