Lake Charles Casino boondocking
If any of you ever like to boondock outside the new Golden Nugget or L'auberge casinos in Lake Charles, I had a bizarre experience there this past weekend.
We got there Friday afternoon and I parked way on the outskirts of the Nugget parking lot. Before I could even get out of my rig to do a walkaround, the security guy had already arrived. He politely told me that no RV's are allowed in either casino's parking lot from Friday noon until Sunday morning. We were later told the same thing by a separate security guard at the L'auberge parking lot. This was strange because I have boondocked there before, and there was plenty of empty parking available. We ended up spending Friday night in a nearby Sam's parking lot.
Anyway, Saturday I came back and saw several RV's parked at the casino. I parked and saw another security guard. This time she came up and politely asked me to move to a different part of the lot, but said it was absolutely fine to park there overnight. She said they have no policy about not allowing RV's on weekends. Anyway, so Saturday night we parked at the casino with no problems.
I'm now confused about what their policy actually is. Either it changed from Friday to Saturday, or some of the guards haven't been informed about what the rules actually are. Does anyone ever go to Lake Charles and know what the official policy is?
I'd like to go back again sometime, but I probably won't unless I know I'll be allowed to park at the casino overnight.
