Lake Charles, Louisiana - Casinos not RV Friendly

For anyone planning on making an overnight stop at Golden Nugget Lake Charles or L'auberge du Lac, motorhomes are no longer allowed on their property EXCEPT on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or any other night as long as you do not make contact with a representative from security. Is that crazy - we were told to leave the parking lot because we opened the door when security came banging (these people do not know how to use a doorbell) - had we not made contact with the security guard we could have stayed like the 4 other motorhomes who did not open their door. People at SAMs allowed us to park and a cab ride was $10 if you are not towing.

Just my feeling, but if they ran me out of their parking lot I would not be interested in any cab ride back to their establishment. Thanks for the heads up, though. We have been considering a run to Lake Charles casinos and this is timely information.

There are two other Casinos in or near Lake Charles. They deserve your business.

Less than one hour away is the Coushatta Casino in Kinder, La. They have one of the finest RV Resorts in the US.

The purpose of the post was for people over 55 traveling through the area who were planning a boon-docking stopover for an excellent meal and a little bit of entertainment - not a weekend camping trip. Red Shoes RV Park at Coushatta is nice like 50 amps and paved sites but it has many negatives like lots of children and/or adults riding around on golf carts, children on casino shuttle buses going to the pool, and not any fine dining.

Well, it would be better to take a taxi to spend money where they had ran you off than a place that had children playing around. I have always found more than enough good eats at the Coushatta, but that's just me.
