Has anyone seen this park lately? If I'm not mistake, it used to operate under the name of SECRET LAKE. Not sure, just guessing.

It is now operated by ELS Corporation aka ENCORE. We are planning on staying there during the winter, but would like some reassurance that under new ownership, it is really a nice park.

Appreciate any input. Thanks.

Just curious, why wouldn't you just drive the 30 miles from the Villages and check it out?

Hey Guys
My brother-in-law stayed there several years ago and loved it .... but a search of Encore, the net and even woodalls failed to find it so it might be out of business or under a new name ..... How's workcamping going?

Hi, Geeche!

We would certainly drive those miles IF WE WERE IN THE VILLAGES. We are in Maine workkamping and have been since June. By the way, we are loving Bar Harbor.

Also, we found out that Magic Lake used to operate under the name of Encore ORLANDO.

Thanks for your response!

Hi, Ed and Andrea! Good to hear from you. Just found out yesterday, that Magic Lake used to be "ENCORE ORLANDO" which is now an ELS campground, like the one we're working at in Maine.

Work camping is GREAT! We are loving it and plan to return next year. Our sites are beautiful and usually go for $60 per night. We get them for free, plus a salary and lots of freebies all around the Island like the boat trips for Whale Watching, Lobster Fishing and Light House tours. Also get a "two for one" on the "CAT", a catamaran ferry that travels to Nova Scotia. About a $100 savings on that one. This is a beautiful spot, and we feel so blessed to have such a wonderful experience on our first work camping job.

We have met some really nice folks, many of whom are from Florida also. On our days off, we do things with them, and plan to do a little more sight seeing with one of the couples on our way back to Florida.

Hope you guys are doing well and those little grand kiddos too!

Take care!

Secret Lake was sold for Condos several years ago.Encore is nice with 2 pools. Outdoor world rents sites from them since they sold their park. Another section is French Canadian. We used to do our weeks out of thousand Trails there. ELS has bought everyone. Encore, Sherwood Forest,Tropical Palms, Clerbrook (land), Thousand Trails, (land), and others. Actually it's about an hours drive to the Villages, we used to drive up there once a week. You will like it, lots to do in Kissimmee.

Cookstwo,

Can you tell me what your workcamping in Maine
expects you to do each day and how many hours
do your work each day.

We are thinking about workcamping but do not
know anyone who does it.

Thank you for your help.
