Lake or Ocean view camping

Looking for campgrounds with lake or ocean view out of the front window. Any recommendations?

Try Painted Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan's UP. The Twelve Mile Beach campground is on a bluff overlooking Lake Superior.

FWIW myself I'd look at a lake for the water views. Depending on how long you paln on staying in 1 spot ocean views come with a possible corrosion issue from the salt air off the ocean.

in NC and southern VA, there are plenty of state and federal parks with lakefront campsites, where you can drive into your site and have the lake out your front window. Falls Lake's Holly Point near Raleigh, Buggs Island Lake's (also known as Kerr Reservoir) North Bend Park and Campground are a couple, the lakeside campsites do not have hookups, but both have some lakeview campsites with hookups. On the Blue Ridge Parkway Julian Price Park has waterfront campsites, no hookups.

There also are quite a few Corp of Engineers campgrounds in SC and TN with lakeview sites with or without hookups.

Best advice in the thread. Been there, done that, sanded rust, replaced corroded parts and latches. Nice but detrimental to your coach IMHO.

Beaverlybeachcamptown.com

Bahia Honda State park

Bluewaterkey.com

Three of my favorite ocean vie camping areas....

Personally if I was worried about wear and tear I wouldn't buy it in the first place thus dealing with the salt from the ocean isn't a concern for me. Then again I take my cars the road coarse for track time and my jeep off-road...

We just got back from Bluewater Key RV Resort. It's about 14 miles north of Key West. The bayside sites have a dock and tiki hut looking out over the water. I think it's the best resort in the keys and will be going there for years to come.Click image for larger version
