Lake Powell / Page, AZ recommendations

I plan on staying in this area one night. Where do you recommend staying?? Wahweap seems to be the best looking area.

Thanks,
Zac

I live there. Wahweap is really the best option. You will need an old folks National Park pass or pay a gate fee and then go rent your site. Many sites available but you can check on line to see availability.
If you want to boondock there are a couple of places just north of the dam 4-5 miles where you can pull off the road ( US 89) and park out in the dirt for free. Some do that.
You can walk across the bridge at the dam for pictures and 3 miles NW on 89 is a lake overlook (right turn off hiway going north).

We have stayed at Wahweap. It is a very nice park, nice sites. You will wish you had more time. The boat trip to Rainbow Bridge was awesome.

We've stayed there several times - Wahweap is definitely the best. You have access to the resort's amenities while you're there as well.

We stayed on Lake Powell in a houseboat for a week, based out of Wahweap. The RV park there looked very nice. If you get a chance to get out on Lake Powell for a day or more, I highly recommend it.
