We are lucky to live only a few hours away and can visit all year round. :-)

Al & Deb,
We're in the Bay Area and never seem to find the time to take a weekend to go to Tahoe. Your report gave me a little more motivation to get up there.

Just wanted to pass on a tip for the yellow-jackets, there's a trap called Rescue, that works great. I keep it in a zip-lock baggie in the RV. It uses an attractant (pheromone?) and the yellow-jackets climb right in and die pretty quick. I was hesitant at first, but it works really good. Hang it just up wind from where you are, they buzz right to it. It usually traps the first one within a few minutes. 20 or more the first day. Put it back in the baggie and dump when you get home.
Your neighbors will thank you for it, too!

Tom

Great tip. Thanks! We would have needed a wheel barrow to haul away the yellow jackets this trip! :-)
