Las Vegas in August with dogs. Argh!

Yes, I need to be in Vegas in early August and I have two dogs. Can you recommend a place to stay? I have hit the RV Parks review site but I am looking for more personal advice. I will be at a trade show for three days.

I know Vegas in the Summer as I have gone there for 6 years in a row but this is the first time in our Class A. Shade would be nice, of course. i know the dogs will be miserable, but we will have to make it work.

Any suggestions appreciated.
We are 40ft.
Thanks,
Jake

I'm going to watch this thread.

DW's Mom lives in Henderson. When we go to LV we don't take the RV in the summer because of the excessive heat. Our small dog comes with us in the car and stays at my MIL's house.

Only nice RV park I know of is Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort
Never stayed there, it's a bit pricey. I can get a nice air conditioned room for 1/2 what they want for a space.

We spent three days at Circus Circus. It was 110 and above the whole time.
Lovely..... NOT

It was close to the strip is why we stayed there.

We'll probably stay there again mainly because of the location.

If you happen to belong to the Passport America club then the rates could be half price at the Oasis in August. Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort at Las Vegas, Nevada, United States - Passport America Discount Camping Club

I travel with dogs and am going to Houston in July - hot enough but you will really have a challenge.
I would go to dog friendly.com - hotels and RV parks listed. Call each park and check out. If you don't have a temp monitor or auto start gen I would see if someone at park can monitor your RV and check on dogs for you.
I would also get blackout shades for windshield
Good luck

How long are you going to be there? Main St. Casino used to have an RV park (At least back in 2007 when I was there) good rates, 50 amps so your A/Cs will work. No dog run though that I noticed. . I have also stayed at Thousand Trails (Bolder hwy) this park is all 30 amps but in August, in the past, the manager actually encouraged the use of "Cheater boxes" that let a 50 amp rig use two 30 amp sites for power.. Circus Circus KOA has a dog run.. Oasas I believe does (That is one nice park, south end of the strip, CC is north end) And those are just the places I have visited. There are many more.

The only one I recommend against is Covered Wagon on Bolder.. They charge extra for each dog, and they pack rigs in like sardines (No room to put out an awning) and they just ..*issed me off when I pulled in... And out, in the same hour.

Oasis is my pick too. Stayed there in early September last year. Pricey but secure and very nice. Very close to the strip. Plenty of space to walk your dogs.

We stayed here in 2010 and rated it vg. Price is very reasonable compared to other parks in Vegas. You might call the office and see if they would work with you on a tree site and would know of someone that could check on your pooches during your absence.

We usually stay at 1000 Trails or at Sam's Town during our week out but it is usually winter or spring. If I recall the best spot for some shade would be Oasis. As for a large rig, Sam's Town would not be a good choice as there is little shade in their pull thru sites.

x2 on the Las Vegas RV Resort, close to Sam's Town on Boulder Hwy. We stayed there last year, they have weekly rates and it's immaculate, remodeled bathrooms & clubhouse, very friendly workampers and the only park that has 24 hr security. We really liked their pool in hot weather. You didn't say where the trade show would be but we would definitely return to the LV RV Resort again.

Thanks for the responses so far. The trade show is down town, so the best place would be main street station, but their website say nothing of an Rv Park.

My wife will be staying with the dogs most of the time and we do have a temp sensor tethered to a mobile phone.

Another option is to leave the dogs in St George in a kennel. Or, we could just park the rig and stay at a dog friendly motel.

I am surprised by some of the rates. 70.00 per night? Really? I can stay at the Golden Nugget for 59.00.

Last August...2nd week...Sam's town RV "parking lot"

2 A/C ran continuously...85F inside day 75F night....It was "confortable" in the RV. Didn't spend much time there though.

Try here if you have a class A....

Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort | Celebrating the Las Vegas Lifestyle

Trust me it is much nicer than staying at the Nugget. We stayed there 2 weeks last July at the end of the WSOP.
