Chris let us know how you make out. If your trip brings you through the Florida panhandle don't miss staying in Gregory E Moore Campground at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach (Destin), FL. Right now there are lots of sites. Next month is quite a bit tighter. Have an enjoyable safe trip.

Another idea might be Long Pine Key CG in the Everglades. It is first come, first served and rarely fills up. No hookups, but water and dump station for $8 a night with Golden Age pass. You will have no problems at 28' and its only a half hour from Key Largo. So a day trip or two down to the keys to find a closer site might work. Plus the Everglades are well worth a visit. As posted several times, you don't want to get stuck with no place to spend the night. Even the rest areas are posted for no overnight parking.
