Laughlin area

Hi there. I'm looking for info on the Laughlin Bull head city area. We have stayed at the Avi Koa in December many years ago and dry camped at the Avi across the street. My first question is...... how busy does this area get after Jan 1st, will it be tough finding a spot at the Avi or the campground. Do I need reservations if we decide to stay at a resort in Bull head for perhaps 1 m onth. We would like to simply drive there and decide where we stay at that time. Will this work or will we end up parked in the desert hooked up to a cactus tree?

If you don't mind moving every couple of weeks or so you can get buy without reservations. The RV park at AVI is a KOA. Personally I think you could do better. There are lots of places in the Lauglin/BHC area. It is just the month block of time that is difficult to come by.

On google earth I found a nice little spot on the Colorado river right at the bridge to Laughlin on the Bullhead side. I noticed a few Rvs parked up to the river in a wide open area. Cant tell if its a small resort or if they are simply boondocking. From Laughlin as you are crossing the bridge to Bullhead, looking to the left you can see the Rvs. Can anyone shed some light on that area?

Try Kathrines landing just north of Laughlin, beautiful area with house boat rentals and ski doo rentals. Very inexpensive, go to there web site for details.

Davis Camp,

I can't remember if it is State or County that operate it. Good selection and choice of Hookups!

Nice choice ,but away from the Strip!

We stayed at Avi KOA for two weeks last February, check the KOA website, they run specials all the time. Be sure to request the special pricing, they won't offer it on their own in the office. We then went to Davis Camp for a week, it was nice also. I have relatives who love camping at Riverside. We also checked with several other campgrounds in BHC, most were full.

Looks to be Davis camp thanks.. We have stayed at the Avi Koa before and will be again on this trip for a night or two. After that we will see who has availability I guess. I imagine it will be busy everywhere in January.

thanks again for the help
