Lewisburg WV - Winston/Salem

We will be leaving the NKK Rally at the WV State Fair Grounds in Lewisburg, WV and heading down to Winston/Salem for a couple nights.

The "short" route is south via 219 to Peterstown, then 100 to I-77 south then on to W/S totaling 190 miles and 3+32 time in route to (tentatively) Oak Hollow CG. If 100 is not a good route we would then do 460 west out of Peterstown to I-77 south.

The "long" route (with tolls) is west via I-64 to I-77 south totaling 225 miles and 3+32 time in route.

I assume the long route will be easier to navigate and also relatively less hilly. I'm wondering if the short route is more challenging but scenic enough (compared to the long route) to make it worth while to use?

Any thoughts?

Also...any recommendations for CG within reasonable distance of Kernersville, NC for a couple nights? Oak Hollow looks "OK" for that but I just don't see many options to that for visiting family in that area.

Don't think your are going to find anything out this way except for Oak Hollow which I know nothing about.Looks good on Google Earth. Most people in Kernersville have big driveways or pastures to park in. Its not that far, not much traffic though.
