Long term places in Reno area?

We are gearing up to sell our house in May, dh retires in June and we will start our FT life in the Reno area. We will be buying some real estate theer and settling my daughter and son into one of the units of a 4 plex. So, we need to park somewher until that's done. My daughter warned us we need to get reservations if we plan on being there for the summer as they fill up. So, we are brand new to the life and have never even stayed in an RV Park. Any suggestiond on a good place to stay close enough to Reno to be convenient for looking at real estate , etc. without too much of a commute? Thanks!

We used to live in Sparks, so we know the area well. Yes, get reservations now! We have traveled back there and stayed at several parks. We've stayed at Shamrock for several months, which was kinda tight but ok. My biggest complaint is that the manager was erratic. Sparks Marina park is nice but pricey and they probably have reservations already for those events this summer and will make you leave for a few days. The River's Edge park is under the flight path for the airport. We really like the Grand Sierra RV park but they only have monthly prices in the winter, again, because of the summer events. There is the KOA at Boomtown, really pricey and the Gold Ranch in Verdi, it's good. Don't even consider the ones downtown like Keystone, they are junky.

Check Verdi, NV, west of Reno ( just before you cross into California). Gold Ranch Casino and Boomtown Casino. Both are safe, quiet and affordable. Easy commute into Reno.

We stayed at Silver Sage RV Park right across from the Peppermill and behind Ruby River Steakhouse for 50 weeks when we moved here from Indiana.

Worst 2 things were, Had to have your sewer hose off the ground and having to move to a different site every 28 days.

The moving thing was due to if you stayed in one spot, you would be considered a resident.

Nice place, semi quiet part of town.
