Looking for things to do in one day and a place to stay for two nights. So far Sandusky area looks good. Just wanted to ask Y'all.
PS on the way to Oscoda MI to watch the great annual canoe marathon.

Check out Maumee Bay State Park, really great CG and a super 18 hole layout as well.

How about East Harbor State Park. Very large state park with 550 sites. The "pull thru" electric sites in section "B" are very large. The full service sites in section "C" are also OK. But the back-in sites in section are very tight and short. Near by you have Marblehead, Put-N-Bay / South Bass Island....You can either take our bikes over on the ferry, rent a golf cart once there or take your car over. The State Park campground (South Bass Island) is very tight and is mostly for tents and smaller RV's. Here is a link to some pictures of that area

You can't go wrong with either East Harbor or Maumee Bay, both are very nice OH state parks. EH is closer to the touristy areas of the Lake Erie shoreline that Superslif mentioned & also to Cedar Point, one of OH's premier amusement parks. Here are some pics of MBSP , & here's my review from when we were there last.
