Consider the CG at Stone Mountain. It is on the East side of Atlanta. Agout 7 miles East of the beltway.

If you like to camp on the water, try one of the Army corp of engineers parks around Lake Lanier. The price is right and the sites are beautiful. There is one just outside of Cummin Georgia. Reserveamerica makes reservations for the corp s/Toby

Have a look or call:
Twin Lakes RV Park
3300 Shore Dr
Cumming, GA 30040
Tel: (770) 887-4400
North of Atlanta up route 400, just off GA-9.
Quite a few semi-permanent residents, some full-timers.
Regards, DBF

I have family in Cumming, GA and camp there often.
The campground and area around Stone Mountain is pretty but the campground has poor sites.
In Cumming, the Twin Lakes is easy in and out but has a high percentage that live there. The owners are very nice.
On Lake Lanier is our preferred. The Sawnee State Park is very nice and the lake is beautiful. We prefer the sites on the peninsula near the boat launch. We go here if space is available.
There is also an "RV Resort" on Lake Lanier Island but we pulled in and asked for our money back when we tried it. Small roads, low limbs, rolling sites (at best). On our top 5 for worst sites.

How is the water level on Lake Lanier now? Last time I saw it, it was way, way down.

We were there the first weekend of August and it was still down about 20 feet or so. Takes some of the view away. But, Fay is working her magic in Georgia this week so the water level will get a much needed boost.

In April this year we spent 10 days @ Old Federal COE in Flowery Branch, GA which is North of Atlanta on Lake Lanier. It is another new favorite of ours. I keep a journal about our trips and take pics - you are welcome to glance thru this info to get a feel for the CG. See link below. One of the surprises from this trip was a day trip to Dahlonega. It's North of Flowery Branch but an easy drive and the down is just darling. If you like to shop it has several neat antique, collectible shops, cafes, etc.
