We are looking for a nice place to camp for a few days in either Northen CA or Central CA, not a KOA I think I'm done with them for now,
We have a 38 foot TH and its fully self contained if we run the gen, we do not mind boondocking for a couple of days but do not want to take this TH off road to far, It new to us and want to kind of keep it that way for a while, I do not care about cable as we have a sat dome but I really do not watch tv to much while we are camping, Near a river would be nice or ocean, We are young folks but do not like to party we just want a nice simple place to enjoy for a few days,
does anyone have ideas?
thanks in advance

If you just want to kick back and relax take a look at Dos Reis County Park in Lathrop. Peaceful, shady,FHU 30a, on a river, small green park, clean. $25. But follow the rules.

Morro Dunes in Morro Bay---right on the beach---not too pricey kinda down home place very close to Morro BAy nice shops, sea food, lots to do in that part of California. Wine Country, Hearst Castle, a nice run up the coast on HWY 1 to Big Sur----should be some camping in Big Sur---Hwy 1 is windy and narrow but a gas.
Farther North---Premier RV in Redding----very nice with a stream running through----really good facilities.
49'r Rv outside of Sacramento------
None of these is a "camp" situation all have 30/50 amps and amenities but they are not posh either just nice a comfortable and pretty.

If you want to go toward the Sierras how about Jackson Rancheria...all amenities and reasonable price. Pretty central to the gold country (Hwy 49).
Dry camping at Avila Beach between San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach is right on the water (first come first serve as far as I can tell). Pismo Coast Village RV Resort is great with full amenities and walking distance to beach and town.
