Hi wsd890,
If you are starting from Vestal, NY, consider eastern Long Island and the southern shore of Connecticut and Rhode Island. There are a variety of web sites and directories that you can use to find a specific CG that suites your needs.

We like the Outer Banks of North Carolina. There are a lot of campgrounds to pick from depending on whether you want to be on the Sound Side or Ocean Front. We have been to Camp Hatteras several times and enjoyed our stay. In South Carolina we like Hunting Island State Park although it has gotten quite difficult to find a good site without reservations way in advance.
