Looking for campground

Looking for a campground to spend the winter at, near Florida line to Daytona. Looking to leave to head that way in next couple weeks. Any help would be appreciated.

Go on campgroundreviews.com, click on Florida, and scroll thru the various cities. Great info on campgrounds with links to their web sites.

Hope it's not too late

It's already snowing, and there are MANY snowbirds already in the campgrounds. Hope you find a good site.

Hi, tdsmith45,
There are at least 100 to choose from. Consider getting the Good Sam CG Directory and start calling. Or, go online and Google the area you are interested in.

There is a nice KOA in Starke on US301. It's inland from St Augustine about 60 miles and about 15 miles north of Gainesville. I usually spend a few days there on my way to Miami.

Pecan Park and Flamingo are right On the FL-GA line. Both are decent parks.

If you're looking to get away from the cold you should be looking to go further south.

You can stay at the Gold Rock campground. This video will guide you through everything you need to know about that campground.

Look around, they are out there. County parks may fit you in.

Otter springs and Hart Springs looked near empty last week. They are on the west side of FL.

2 years ago we stayed the month of January in Tampa East CG. Short notice booking.

Check Ginny Springs. They show a bunch of sites for Jan.

Use this to look at different areas and start calling. Northern Florida is not going to be full; especially if you don't pick the most expensive 'resorts'. Even putting yourself inland and trying not to get as close as you can to the beach or special attraction will be a big plus.

A recommendation would be to pick two campgrounds in different areas to make it easier to explore and also to find out where you want to be next year! So much better that if just plunking down in an unknown to you, area and find out that your really don't like the area or the campground.

we leave this campground on the first. after it is booked til mid April we were at a different campground but they only had the space for the 2 weeks that we were there.

same in az we were so far only to find a space for 5 weeks and that is only due to them knowing us so they moved people around.

now this maybe due to the size of our rig (counting trailer 64ft) but all the grounds i am seeing here in penscola have no vac. signs out
