We will be in the Denver Co. area for 2 to 4 months. Looking for an inexpensive, but "safe" campground in that area.

Thanks

Cherry Creek State Park is inside of the metro area but quite large so you get the feeling of solitude inside the metro area.
Chattfield is further out of town, nestled up against the foothills.
Chief Hosa is a private Campground in the mountains up I-70 about 15-20 miles from the center of town.
Are you looking for an RV park or a campground with hookups?
Are you looking to stay close to town (to commute) or do you want to be in the mountains?

A bad day camping is better than a good day at work.

Cherry Creek and Chatfield are both state parks with a 14 day limit, IIRC.

Dakota Ridge is better suited for long term stays, kinda pricey, but in a safe part of town.

Is Chief Hosa open? I thought it had been closed down.

We have stay'd at Cherry Creek State Park and with a pass for two vehicles, it gets a little expensive for us. Also, there is that 14 day limit.

We are looking to stay as close to Aurora, a Denver Suburb as possible. And obviously, we are trying to stay as inexpensive as possible.

Thanks for the answers thus far........

There is also Denver Meadows RV Park off I-225 between I-70 and US-40. They don't have a limitation on how long you can stay, but it may be more than you want to spend. Last year's daily rate was $33.

If you are planning to spend 2-4 months, ask for the monthly rate. It is usually less per-day than the daily rate. Most campground managers prefer to have the steady income and will offer a discount.

info@denvermeadows.com, (303) 364-9483.
