Looking for campground northeast US...

Planning trip to NE late Aug/early Sept. Never been. Looking for a RV park on the water on the Maine coast. Staying maybe 5 days and moving inland somewhere in Vt or NH maybe for a few more days. Idea is to explore coastal sites and towns and then move to interior for a few days - early fall foliage hopefully. Prefer nicer parks, hopefully with water side sites. Don't mind overpaying a bit. Traveling in 40' DP - just the 2 of us and the pup. Anyone had good experience with this type of location in the area?

Saw one called Moorings at Belfast that seems to have waterfront sites, if anyone has a comment on that one. Thanks

Was at the moorings in Belfast last summer. Great park. Nothing fancy but great views from each site. Good location to explore the area. Recommend it!

This may be to far south. We enjoyed the campground. https://www.mass.gov/locations/salis...te-reservation

Thanks

Thanks for the input. Relying on websites and "reviews" can be dubious in some cases. We dread driving from Gulf coast to NE and find we have booked a crummy campsite for a week, especially in an area that has few vacancies during that time of year. Adds a great deal to your experience if you enjoy your camping environment. All your comment is appreciated.
