Looking for Campground Recommendations along FL / AL / MS Gulf of Mexico shores

We are looking for campground recommendations along the Florida Panhandle, Alabama and Mississippi Gulf of Mexico coast. We have a 40' Tiffin Phaeton so prefer a campground with full hook-ups or at least water and electricity. We are planning a trip for this July so appreciate feedback sooner than later!

We are currently at Emerald Beach RV in Navarre Fla. Not a large park but the offcie is very attentive and friendly. Sites a suitable. We are in site #36. I might suggest sites 36 or 50. Both are the end of the row and have ocean front view. Water pressure and electrical services are fine. Trees are small enough so satelite service is obtainable. Cable TV has a number of station. I can't beleive I'm saying this but it has free wif fi, (Tango) and is without a doubt the fastest free wi fi I have every seen. Even faster than our mifi. Downloading videos are a piece of cake.

You are allowed to wash your rig and or toad. They have their own beach and pier abiet on the sound and not to the open water. Traffic noise is non existant. Spring breakers are gone so traffic is managable. Owners also own "Johny Houstons" a burger and beer joint down the road so 10% coupons are readily available. (get the Mac and Cheese-baked with real butter and garlic), mmmmmmm.......! Blue Angels are practicing on Wednesday. IF we were still here then we would have a front row seat.

Gulf Shores State Park, TopSail Preserve State Park, Bella Terra RV Resort, Buccaneer State Park, St. Rosa Sound - all these I've been to at least once, and will be returning. Outstanding! Heading to Destin West in April. Never been there before. Can't go wrong in the panhandle.

If you want full hookups - Topsail is a great state park. If you can get by with all but sewer, I recommend Henderson Beach State Park in Destin. There are also some nice state and private parks near Mobile, AL.

The gulf shores have excellent beaches and some great restaurants.

Enjoy!

Topsail is great but hard to get extended dates to stay unless you book well in advance.

Has anyone stayed at Destin RV resort. It is located in Miramar Beach east of Destin.

We stayed at Gulf Island National Seashore, this is a great place reasonable rates with water and electric hookup. Clean, and convenient, the area is rich with history, located in the panhandle, enjoy your trip.

Good luck on your trip,

Dennis

We stayed at Camp Gulf in Miramar Beach and thought it was very good. They have hook ups on the beach if you like that sort of thing. We choose to stay off the beach, didn't want the salt spray on the coach. Great for kids.

If you are in/near Foley, AL then I would look at staying at Anchors Aweigh RV Resort. I stayed there in Feb of this year and it was fantastic...Good rates, great owners, and one of the cleanest RV parks I've ever been in...

Majestic Oaks and Cajun RV in Biloxi
Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores
Bella Terra in Orange Beach
Pensacola Beach RV resort
Santa Rosa Sound in Narvarre
Destin West RV resort Ft Walton Beach
Destin Luxury RV in Destin

All of these are great parks. Have stayed in all and continue to use each as often as possible. Favorites of the above are the 2 parks in Destin. Sort of pricey but well worth it for the view, amenities, surrounding shopping and the many places to eat.

Lake Osprey RV Resort is a fantastic park to stay at. It is located right outside of Elberta, Al. It is about 10 minutes west of Pensacola, Fl. and about 5 minutes east of Foley, Al.

We just finished 3 weeks doing Florida and found some great spots-- a mixture of stTe/local and private.
Definitely Fort Pickens at Pensacola Beach.
St. Jose's State Park near Appalachacola was very nice.
Fort Desoto at St. Petersburg is the best county park there is.

Thanks for all of the responses to our inquiry. We plan to check out your recommendations in hopes of finding a campsite that will be available this summer (we know, planning kind of late for this summer!!).
