Looking for good park in the Kansas City area

We are going to be in Kansas City area Thanksgiving weekend. Where would you recommend. Have stayed at Walnut grove but its a little tight to maneuver.

My favorite after living there for 19 years is Lake Jacomo, a little north

Not quite in KC but we stayed in a very nice park in Independence called Campus RV. It is actually very close to downtown.

We stayed at Blue Springs CG in Blue Springs MO near Independence. It is a county park and is very nice. We paid around $25.00 for FHU. I believe it was around a 30 - 45 min. drive to KC.

Just did overnight (3 nights ago) in a nice little park in Peculiar, Missouri (Yup, that's the name !) located on Rt. 71 just South from the 435/71 junction at SE corner of K.C. Name of park was....Peculiar Park Place. Seemed to be reasonable access into K.C. proper. FWIW
