We need to find a nice campground in the Morgantown, WV area to stay about 6 weeks from mid Sept to end of Oct. I have searched the state camp grounds in that area but they do not offer full hook ups. The Indian Meadows Campground in Pentress, WV doesn't return phone calls and never seems to have anyone to answer their phone. Would like to be reasonably close to Morgantown. Thanks, Dan

Water and Electric may be the only choice in that area, size WILL also matter. Chestnut Ridge for example was CCC and tight roads. But it is right at the interstate and minutes to Morgantown! There is a private cg just down the road from it, but sorry I can not recall the name as we stayed at Chestnut for years. Also it is one of the few that is open year round (hunters in fall and winter) as it could get chilly in those mountians. BELIEVE the reduce speed warnings on that steep grade...many trucks have not and paid the price.

The Morgantown area is very extremely sparse on "good" campgrounds with fhu's. Sandsprings has mediocre reviews on rvparkreviews.com, but if you're wanting fhu's, it's the only game in town with recent reviews.
Would you consider adjusting your range outward to an hour's radius?

I finally got in touch with Indian Meadows camp ground in Fairview, WV. They have decent rates and the web site shows photos of an ok park. Anyone stayed there?

My son went to WVU for a semester and we could not find anything convenient to Morgantown for the 35-footer we had at the time. When we moved him in, we ended up staying at the WalMart in University Town Center and using the toad to get his stuff close to his dorm.
PS - Verizon coverage was poor in Morgantown. Hopefully it has improved in the last two years.

Indian Meadows is just a short distance from Morgantown and has big sites, not a lot of tree cover so sat reception should be good. Unfortunately we have Verizon and WV is not a good place for that.

We just stayed at a park north of Morgantown in Bentleyville, PA named Pine Cove. Nice campground with level, graveled sites and fhu. It would be about 45 minutes to Morgantown, but it is all highway. Very reasonable rates and the campground has a huge water park to cool off when it gets too hot. I work in the Morgantown area and live in Columbus, OH, so I was looking for a place to park the RV and live in it during the week. Indian Springs is about 30 minutes from Morgantown in a not so populated area of WV with absolutely no phone service. Good luck with your search, not much to choose from in these parts.

We finally booked our stay at Sand Springs just outside of Morgantown. The problem in this area now is the huge find of natural gas in PA. All campgrounds are being taken by pipeline workers.
