Now that we are both retired, the wife and I are thinking about spending some of the winter months in Florida for the first time. I am looking for a nice RV park in the Fort Myers / Naples area. I'm thinking a park that has some sort of concrete pad or patio would be nice but not necessary. Anyone have any recomendations. We are considering Jan, Feb, and maybe March.

You are a little late in making reservations. Don't delay start now these places fill up quick especially the more desireable ones. Check out rvparkreviews.com the listings are categorized under the states then go to towns you are interested in also check to see what kind of rv the reviewer is traveling in to make sure they can suit your needs such as a tent area compared to a big rig friendly campground. This web site Irv2 also has an excellent campground review section. Be careful with brochures they can make any ordinary campground look like an upscale resort. Good luck

UP River RV park on Bayshore rd. in FT. Myers is a nice park. Riverside park just outside of Port Charlotte (says Arcadia) is the nicest park I've ever stayed at with a lot of features.

We winter at Upriver RV park in North Ft Myers every year. The super sites are all concrete, 100' long and level. Tons of activities and a heated pool. It is mostly a over 55 park. Not much to do for children.

We have stayed at Bonita Lakes several times. It is a small nice quiet over 55 park. It is just north of Naples and south of Ft. Myers. Also price is reasonable. We have never stayed there for more than a week at a time, but found the hosts and the people in the park to be extremely friendly. If anything was going on in the park we were always invited to attend. Lots of great restaurants in the area, about 6 or 7 miles from the beach and good shopping. You can see their web site at www.bonitalake.com

We also stayed at Bonita Lake last year and maybe can go back this year. Last year there was plenty of available sites, things may change.

Rated high on my list. Photo at left taken there

We could not get into Sanibel Island this coming Jan/Feb where some friends are staying for all 3 months so we are going to try 1 week each at Seminole, Pelican Lake, and Crystal Lake..then Feb month at The Villages (have house rented) and another week in Destin/ Shalimar area. decided to pass on Riverbend but heard several favorable comments on it also....
